Peachtree Battle home celebrates art and wine
As many as 45 workmen labored to install multiple levels of stonework, encasing a pool, waterfall and massive fireplace. The project used 10,000 plants and 147 tons of stone, a block of which is etched in the shape of a wine bottle. To achieve a scheme of "beige and natural earth colors," Best chose stone from Oregon rather than Tennessee flagstone, which carries tones of blue, he says.
