Griffin is the fourth doctor to live on the property since the early 20th century, and each family made changes, he said. A physician owned the home and 38 acres in the 1940s, later dividing the property into lots of six and seven acres. A psychiatrist later built a split-level home on the existing land. Then, a vascular surgeon added the expansive windows in the living area before the Griffins purchased the property.
