Six-bedroom Alpharetta retreat matches natural setting

In developing the lot, Shakib preserved as many of the native trees as possible. Deciding how to position the house on the lot, he said, "was a real challenge." He wanted to take best advantage of the lake view while keeping the house attractively positioned from the street. Once that was settled, Shakib worked with landscape architect Jack Cartwright to enhance the natural flora with attractive accents such as Chinese crabapple trees, Alaskan cypress and Japanese maples.
