"Beachy" vacation home full of family history
Oliver's family has deep roots on St. Simon's Island. Her grandparents, Thomas William and Sarah Hamrick Oliver, moved there in 1938 and built the first of two houses they would own at the beach. The second house was built in 1948 by Oliver's father and uncle, and Oliver's grandmother lived in that house until she died in 1971. Family photo
